Engineered Living Materials Group
The Engineered Living Materials Group develops grown biotechnologies and biomaterials that are sustainable, sensory, responsive and interactive to their environment. From architecture thorough to healthcare, biomaterials and processes, our work embraces the complexity of biological systems utilising living matter.
The Engineered Living Materials Group (ELM) at Lifefabs Institute extends to working at the intersection of community organising and biodesign, focusing on contributing accessible biotechnology tools to activate local and global movements around the Life Sciences and community biodesign. The ELM group seeks to bridge scientific research and learning with projects ranging from courses, workshops and low-cost open source hardware and infrastructure empowering new creativity in biodesign.
